file naming/missing mp3's in library recently, i had to do a clean installation on my iMac. i swear i was about a couple days from burning my hundreds of mp3's onto discs before my computer decided to go AWOL for good. it sucked. anyway, since re-installing my system and using LimeWire 2.1.3, some of my mp3's are disappearing from my library. i see them in my shared folder so i've figured it has to do with the length of characters in the file name including the suffix .mp3. i think 30 is the limit for naming. the problem is that before my computer crashed, i was able to name my mp3's in any length and fashion i saw fit in the library and it wouldn't affect the actual name of the mp3 file. i was used to naming my songs as detailed as i wanted and would like to be able to do so again. how can i rename a song in the library without changing the name of the actual file like i used to? did i not install something i should've or is LimeWire doing something new? is it an applescript problem? i use an iMac DV, 400 Mhz, Mac OS 9.1 with iTunes 2.0.3 as my mp3 decoder.:( |
