stops running

I had limewire before and used it a couple of times with no problem. Lately every time I would try to use it the clock would come up, then disappear and I would be back on my desktop. So I trashed it and tried to download it again. I've downloaded the installer several times and after it installs it sends all the information to the trash. When I take it out and try to use install it again the clock comes up and it seems to start okay but then disappears again. What is happening??

FAQ 2-12 describes the problem. You may need to update your MRJ or download the large installer.

still stops running

That doesn't work because the adware is only for windows and I have a mac. It still won't run.

Trying to use Limewire March 23rd, 2002 12:26 AM

The large file doesn't solve it

I downloaded the 11.4mb file, unstuffed, increased memory, ran the installer, got the clock on the screen -- and when it went away, there were a bunch of files in the trash (including one called error.txt, with something about MRJ 2.25) and no LimeWire anywhere. I already had MRJ 2.25 on my computer, plus I used the big file so that would have taken care of any MRJ problems. I'm running OS 8.6 and IE 5.1 on a Powerbook 3400C. Now why does the installer think I have a java problem?
