Error Type 2

Whenever I start limewire on either of my iMacs (one running 9.2.2 and the other 9.1) limewire quits and gives me an error type 2 alert. So today I downloaded the newest version and after being forced to install with extensions off, I still get the same error. Any help would be appreciated

I gave limewire minimum of 16 megs, max of 64 and that doesn't help either by the way..thanks

Same error message here.

I use an iMac 333 with OS 8.6 and MRJ 2.2.5 installed.

The program does launch only when I have all of my extensions off...

I tried reinstalling LM - both 11mb version and 5mb (no VM) version, but no change...

What could be the problem?

I already tried that option, but it did not work for me.

However, as soon as I turned off my Kaleidoscope 2.3.1 Control Panel, LM started up no problem! I did not turn off any other control panels/extentions in EM Manager.

I have no idea what Kaleidoscope has to do with memory allocation for LM, but it might be worth the try if you are experiencing type 2 error upon LM launch.

there was probably an extension conflict.

Type 2 errors

I have MacOS 8.6 and a java SDK install started type 2 errors with limewire.
I use a apple script to remove JDKToolsCLasses.zip and MRJSDKClasses.zip from
the folder MRJ Libraries in the system folder before starting limewire.

on run

tell application "Finder"
activate
if (count items in folder "MRJClasses" of folder "MRJ Libraries" of folder "Extensions" of folder "System Folder" of startup disk) > 2 then
select {file "JDKToolsClasses.zip" of folder "MRJClasses" of folder "MRJ Libraries" of folder "Extensions" of folder "System Folder" of startup disk, file "MRJSDKClasses.zip" of folder "MRJClasses" of folder "MRJ Libraries" of folder "Extensions" of folder "System Folder" of startup disk}
move selection to folder "DownLoader" of startup disk
select file "LimeWire" of folder "LimeWire" of folder "Applications" of startup disk
open selection
else
select {file "JDKToolsClasses.zip" of folder "DownLoader" of startup disk, file "MRJSDKClasses.zip" of folder "DownLoader" of startup disk}
move selection to folder "MRJClasses" of folder "MRJ Libraries" of folder "Extensions" of folder "System Folder" of startup disk
end if
end tell
end run

I ysed to have similar problem.....
Tried almost everything possible to get rid of it......( Install with ext off, all os9.2 on etc...)

Nothing helped.

Problem somehow dissapeared after I upgraded to QT6.

Works fine now...
