dmg help! i just downloaded a program and it was stuffed. i unstuffed the file and the file is a dmg and uncompressed. when i try to open it, it says the program craeated it could not be found is there anything i can do? |
I had this same problem. I am pretty frustrated. Having a hard time finding anything about this! |
try something called DropDMG. It fixes images as well as making them. I found in in a mag CD. |
dmg files DMG is a system X compression format. It supposedly automatically decompresses on system X machines. I am going to try the dropDMG mentioned in the thread, as I am running 9.2. |
DMG file You can try image mounter or if you have roxio toast put file in as a disk image file and hit your Mount button |
DMG is an exclusively Mac OS X file stuffing format created by Apple to run the carbon applications. It will not work when run in native OS 9 mode. It will run in the Classic layer of OS X, or in OS X native. Sorry all you OS 9 users...you are going to have to get OS X Jaguar to access these files. The upgrade is dirt cheap at about $129 or you can be a bad little pirate and try to get it for free. Whatever, but remember big brother can watch you and fire you into jail or give you a big *** fine. |
