Question Downloaded files are not mp3's

I also downloaded the newer version of LimeWire and have run across lots of problems. Mainly, all files I download through LimeWire are automatically made RealPlayer files (instead of the usual QuickTime or mp3), and are not playable on iTunes. How can I fix this? Please help!!!

It is not a limewire issue but an issue as to what your local computer thinks should be associated with MP3 files... I believe the Mac community calls it aliases have a look at this LINK
