Does Gnutella seem UNSTABLE???

is it just me or has every gnutella client mac or pc or linux, specialized or java, seem very unstable... i don't mean crashing all the time... of course this seems to happen with java clients unless you have a good amount of excess resources over the "required" number... i mean downloads... half the downloads i try to make never start and then the half that do end up getting cut off... i figured once napster got cut off (which it has just yesterday with te new court ruling of no file transfers) the gnutella community would spring into action and push out some real great clients... but the network still has a way to go in terms of maturing... what does everyone else think?

yeah. napster was a breeze compared to mactella, every single file i try and download gets cut off a third of the way through!

I agree, I've only been able to get 2 files downloaded out of about 30-40 attempts!

After I posted the previous message last night I searched this site, downloaded LimeWire 1.6 and managed to download 3 songs successfully - all quite big 7min, 9min and 15min. LimeWire had a strange install process under OS X but the interface is 10x better than Mactella, and it works!
