How do I play downloaded files on my Mac?

I have iTunes, Quicktime & Audion. I can downlaod files OK. But how do I transfer my downloads from my linewire library to a player? I never had this problem w/Napster.

how do I play downloaded files on my mac

This is the same problem I have. I also cannot open or play downloaded files. I wonder how long it takes before anyone from Gnutella will help us out. I wonder if they read these messages.

I use LimeWire on my iMac. When I'm finished downloading an mp3 file, it has an iTunes icon. I just drag it into the iTunes music folder, open up the iTunes and go to the library. Go under "File" -> "add to library" -- follow the path to the song you want to add, select the song. It's now in your iTunes player ready to play.

When I downlaod a file it does not have an iTunes icon. What am I missing? Do I have the wrong LineWire software? If so, how do I download the proper iMac program? Please be specific. Thanks!!!

I downloaded itunes associator 1.6 OK. Then I went to my LineWire Library. Still no iTunes icon. I then stupidly took my iTunes Player w/Library & put it on the LimeWire icon. LineWire sucked it up. At that point I couldn't find iTunes anymore. I then threw the empty iTunes icon into the trash. I tried to take it out but couldn't. A window popped up which said "You cannot replace the folder iTunes because a folder cannot be replaced by a file." What does this mean?
I then went to Sherlock and found a alias iTunes which works. My questions are:
1. Can I get iTunes out of the trash? If so, how?
2. How do I get everything to work?
3. Should I throw everything away & start all over again?
Please be specific. THANKS AGAIN!!!!

if you have a "my mp3" folder on your desktop....drag that into the download area.....right where it says "where to download"

this entire forum helped me SO much! I couldn't play my music and that note with setting up to itunes - great! I figured out what I did wrong - When installing, it asked if it should check the hard drive to find other music things - i said no - BIG MISTAKE when i reloaded it, it found itunes and i checked that for sharing.

thanks again
