mp3 is missing icon???

I'm downloading files on my Mac, using Gnutella, successfully. The files with long names needed to be shortened, and even needed .mp3 added to it. Once I edited the title and hit return, the mp3 icon appeared on the file.

All of a sudden, I'm doing the same exact thing and the mp3 icon does not appear, just a blank looking file with the corner turned down - Yet, QuickTime Player will play it with no problem??? Will this give me a problem when I try to burn it on a CD?

Even the files that d/l with short names and the suffix (.mp3) do not have the mp3 icon any longer???

Rebuild your desktop

You need to rebuild your desktop, on start up if I remember right hold down the command key (apple) and the option key while pressing the start button and hold till a little window pops up asking if you would like to rebuild your desktop. Click OK. For more info search the help center for and search for something like "startup keys."

Else if rebuilding doesn't work use the file exchange control panel and select mp3 and make sure that your proffered program is selected to open them.

You should not have a problem burning them (depending on what your using) as long as they have the .mp3 ending.

Thanks - I'll give that a try. You're right! I had no problem burning.
