Fight Morpheus! - Protect Your System

When it somes to Morpheus, there is NO SUCH THING as getting something for nothing!

For those of you who don't already know,

If you download Morpheus to your computer, it will INFECT your system causing unwanted advertisements to pop up out of nowhere and sending you to webpages that you didn't even want to go to. Morpheus has also been revealed as a new breed of Spyware. This means that when you install it, it scatters various files throughout your computer, without you knowing. These files are used to SPY on what you do on your computer and where you go on the internet. The use this to harvest personal information about you and to bury you in unwanted advertisements.

How can you disinfect your computer? There are two programs that you will need to download to completely disinfect your computer, and they're both free. (please note that the parasites that these programs destroy remain on your computer EVEN if you've uninstalled Morpheus.)

The first is called Morphbuster and can be found at: ahttp://www.linkcounter.com/go.php?linkid=243489

The second is called AdAware. You can download it at: http://www.linkcounter.com/go.php?linkid=243492

If you run these two programs (to completely proctect your system, you need to run both), your system should be completely disinfected and you'll be able to continue using Morpheus, without the parasites that come with it.

-Hope this helped

Sorry, the first link didn't work correctly. It should say:

The first is called Morphbuster and can be found at: http://www.linkcounter.com/go.php?linkid=243489

The second is called AdAware. You can download it at: http://www.linkcounter.com/go.php?linkid=243492

"pop ups oh no, lmao. just use a pop up killer or ban the server manually for the ads it really isn't that hard!!"

It's more complicated then that. Morpheus's pop-ups are being displayed from files hidden in your computer. Kazaa does a similar thing only with SaveNow. Most pop-up killers will NOT stop these from being displayed. Just about the only way to get rid of these is to use the programs above (you can do it manually but it's a lot of work).

But it's a bigger issue than just the pop-ups. Morpheus is making tons of money at our expense and stealing hard working webmasters' commissions. You can learn about it at Parasiteware.com.

Thanks,

what about kAzAz lite?

I was told that if you want the kAzAa software without all of that spyware crap you can try KAzaa LIte . The link starts at the agreement page, just accept agreement and see what you think.

Kazaa Lite does indeed avoid the spyware. However, the current Kazaa Lite version is 2.0.0. The current Kazaa version is 2.0.2. Consiquently, you will see an "upgrade" window everytime you start "Kazaa Lite". I've been trying to figure out how to disable the "upgrade" button without success.

However, since Morpheus and Kazaa are on separate networks, that doesn't resolve the Morpheus problem. Currently I'm using Shareaza and Kazaa Lite so I can share on both networks. But I'm not very happy with the search results from Shareaza, and I've been looking for alternatives.

try iMesh with a little Ad-aware

iMesh seems to be the better file sharing program I've used, it always finds whatever Im looking for from MP3's to full working programs. Although it says plain and clear on the site (or so it did) that it does not support spyware, that is wrong. I found plenty of spywear on my XP machine but manage to remove them with Ad-aware and manually. Once that is all gone, iMesh works great.
