application error..new user

New user here.
Win2000, following error message when trying to connect
Gnucleus.Exe Application Error
The instructions at "0x6c40049e" referenced memory at "0x00000004". The memory could not be written. Click OK to terminate the program
Systems using: win2000, McAffee protected. Gnucleus v.1.63
Any help would be appreciated
