How 'advanced' is Morpheus really

Some people say that Morpheus had to implement Gnutella in a hurry and that it's like using 'classic' Gnutella 2000-style. Dead slow, bandwidth wasted by pings and searches, and you only see 100 hosts max.

Others say it's quite good. So how's the status ? multi source downloading, supernodes, hashes, ping caching ?
