mutella - running 24/7 with unix screen ? Hi, I am running mutalla on my linux box at home. I would like to run it 24/7, but the linux box doesn't have a monitor on it. Is there any way I can run mutalla 24/7, and on demand, whenever I ssh in from work or from home, call up mutella and run searches, downloads, etc ? thanks ! steven. |
use "screen" man screen screen mutella [ctrl+a] then [d] to detach screen -r to reattach |
I've used gnute and now mutella for a little more than two years in this manner. One thing I'll add to the above post. I use: screen -r -d To reattach to my session. It seems to always work. With mutella's web interface, I spend about 50% of the time managing it that way. screen is a beautiful thing. I've been running OpenSSH for the past several months. Along with a router port forwarding of 6346 to the mutella session. |
