I only get "Connection failed"

Hi,

I've downloaded napshare-1.1-2 today and when I
run it I only get "Connection failed", setting
dbg=5 shows me about 9 different hosts.
All the time, the "gnitella connections" windows
shows Name/IP, "Outgoing" and "Connection failed"
(only once I've seen "Old 0.4 client" or something
like that.)

I am on sympatico.ca ISP, I have Linux 2.4, and
even when I totally remove firewall ("ipchains -I input -j ACCEPT; ipchains -I output -j ACCEPT") - [ baad idea ], I still get the same results.

Can anyone tell me what could be wrong ? What
should I try ?

Any pointers are welcome !

John

try this page
http://www.zero-g.net/gwebcache/report.html
enter in some of the IPs you find on the host cache pages to get it started
if you run it min weekly you wont have this problem again as it collects new hosts all the time

I was on this site, but what has to be filled in and where. I can't also get connected to the Gnutella Network. Napshare tries several host catcher, but it's unsuccessful. My OS: SuSE is 8.0...

I have wrote the following hostcatchers subsequently into the field behind the add-button and clicked on ADD, but I still cannot get connected to the Gnutella network:

* gnotella.fileflash.com:6346
* connect1.gnutellanet.com:6346
* router.limewire.com:6346
* public.bearshare.net:6346
* connect2.gnutellanet.com:6346
* connect3.gnutellanet.com:6346
* connect4.gnutellanet.com:6346
* gnet2.ath.cx:6346
* gnutella-again.hostscache.com:6346

Even when my firewall is deactivated I get no connect.

What can be wrong? Do I have to put this list into my /home/.napshare/NAPS-hosts file?

Same on my system.

I've got the same error, and I tried all I was able to do.
Nothing at all, always the same errors as above.

:\ SIGH !

What to do now? Still cannot get connection to any host. Isn't there the developer of NAPSHARE? Can You help?

BTW: Is there any other good Gnutella client with a GUI running on LINUX? I know already LIMEWIRE, but it isn't so nice as NAPSHARE and it was working well till now :-(

I gave up

I gave up. I have downloaded GTK-Gnutella here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...?group_id=4467 and it was working from the first start on exactly the same machine without any connection problems...
