LimeWire is a peer-to-peer filesharing program. It's for downloading and sharing files with others. It does not need to be a CD Burner, a media player, a toaster oven or a dog polisher. That's what other programs are for.
As to the cost of CD burning software; two thoughts.
1. You get what you pay for and
2. You wants to play, ya gots to pay.
We certainly don't want to burden the LimeWire developers with such a feature add-in just so kiddies don't have to spend money on the software they want.
When you add too many 'features', you get big, slow, buggy software - look at Microsoft Word 2000/2002 for example.
