Mac OSX: Save preferences when upgrading version

Hello

I'm an user of LimeWire for Mac OS X. I started with LW 2.5, then upgraded to V2.6 (great! Italian supported!) and V2.6.1.

In both upgradings, it was annoying that I had to re-type all my preferences (connection speed, upload settings, download settings, shared directories and so on). One of the nice things of Mac OS X is that it allows storing application preferences in a specific separate directory below the user home. In this case it would be ~/Library/Preferences/LimeWire.

In this way, user preferences are always available to the application and can be reused as they are, without forcing to restore them manually every time there is an upgrade.

Doing so, there is also another big added value: for multi-user environments, this would allow to have a centralized, single installation for LimeWire but then any Mac OS X user may set his/her own preferences independently. With the current LimeWire, this appears not to be possible. What about having that in LW 2.6.2/2.7?

Ciao

Same idea at the same time

I didn't have a look at that thread.
But if you look at the date and time of the post, you will discover that we sent the same idea at about the same time :-)

Ciao
