Escaping special characters (? etc)

Currently Windows LW does not let me download a file with special characters like ?, I can download these in linux. (Similarly linux LW can't dl files with / etc, but Windows can) It would be nice if LW escapes the OS specific special characters and lets download the files containing special characters.

Absolutely! By now I have about ten percent ?, / etc. They are frequently produced by non-ASCII characters like Franc?ais or Bong?o, so you can imagine the effect if you look for french or spanish song titles.
