Browse IP in Search window

In addition to existing Search Types (All, Video, Audio, Image etc), I would like to be able to directly request an IP address. I can think of two ways to implement this:

1. include "IP" among the Search Types

2. include a filter-field(?) for "IP" alongside Filename, Title, etc. on some or all of the search types.
(this would allow someone to search for a file from a specific IP, presumably one they already knew to offer that file)

FYI - the reason for this request is exactly the circumstance I mention in #2. I'll be queued-up to download from someone but then I'll lost the connection to them before I can get the file. Eventually, I close Limewire or the search tab and there's no way to request the file from that same user again unless they show up in a new general Gnutella-wide search.

The next version of LimeWire will be more aggressive about connecting to hosts for downloads. If it succesfully made a connection once, then when the connection drops it will try to connect to that host again.

Is this "next" version the beta 3.3.0? Also, what about my suggestion re searching by IP? If I close LW, then re-open it, how do I know which IPs the recreated (incomplete) downloads are using?

Yup, the version I mentioned before is now released as beta 3.3.0. Included also in this release is that if you click 'Resume' when the download has gone to Awaiting Sources, it will automatically attempt to reconnect to the hosts it initially tried downloading from. (Thanks goes to trap_jaw for the code for that.) That should solve the problem you mentioned.

If you close LimeWire and re-open, the above automatically occurs.
