bandwidth controls Are improved bandwidth controls likely in the near future? I'd like to see total bandwidth allocated to a % of what I have available. With a 128 Kbit ps DSL connection and speed set for cable, I have to set the LW upload limit slider to about 10%. Even this isn't enough to stop my browser or mail program often timing out. With a 1Mbit ps DSL connection and speed set for cable, the setting choices for upload are either "unlimited" or the next lowest setting--43.31 KB/s. Something in between would be preferable here (using the T1 setting seems misleading if it's reported to other hosts). With the 1 mbps connection I need to set a total % that allows LW to run steadily to keep bandwidth to 1 GB/day and cooperate with my ISP. Just running as an UP with no downloads or searches can use that up in about 8 hours. Thoughts, problems and projections? |
