Thumbs down

Proxies are not secure and blocklists will only help if BayTSP publicised the IPs it is using to track p2p users.

While I certainly empathize with your feelings, the "something" that is put in really cannot afford to hurt the network or create more traffic which would overburden ultrapeers.

I'm currently trying to implement a security feature in LimeWire, - if all goes well I will post a notice next week, calling for testers.

count me in if jum will patch it, or anything else I can do. This relates to the "subnet" authorization idea?

Yes, it's the subnet stuff. I've got the basics working but a lot of grunt work left. If I'm lucky I can start with the GUI tomorrow and have a version that actually compiles by monday.

If I'm not quite as lucky it could very well take me another week, especially if I f'cked up the upload code since LimeWire's upload code is really, really messy.

Sounds interesting. By Friday the Sandvine will be removed and I should have my bandwidth back.

Well . . . another major idea being put into practise! I'm selfishly glad you're finding the UL code messy--this will probably mean you'll find a bunch of stuff to patch and we all will see even more improvement to gnutalla!

Congrats in advance--"trap_jaw does it again"
