Sharing My Files

1 Attachment(s)
I currently have 358 music files that I'd love to share, but since LimeWire does not (AFAIK) have the option to hide shared files like Kazaa Lite K++, I'm not sharing any files.

It would be nice if LimeWire and LimeWire Pro had a feature like this, so users could hide their shared files from prying eyes (i.e.: the RIAA), without actually turning off file sharing.

KL also includes a Bad IP Updater that I used B4 each KL run, but I'm not sure if that would work with LimeWire.

funny thing is that the fasttrack network got their pants sued off this year so apparently that small bit of protection doesn't help.

this too mis my main concern about sharing my files. So which one would provide you better protection. Kazaa lite with the bad ip updater or limewire pro?
right now i do shre my files which consist of old songs and video clips but I'm afraid to download or share anything new. I'm in the u.s. by the way

You should probably consider downloading PeerGuardian from www.methlabs.org. It's a must if you share files.

That would make LW pro safer than Kazaa.

Thanks, I checked into peerguardian but instead I went ahead and downloaded protowall with blocklist manager from bluetack. i didn't think peerguardian worked with LW. Does both programs give you good protection or is perguardian a bit better?

Bosnianheat26 October 24th, 2004 11:30 AM

I'm not sure with that, I've never used protowall
But PeerGuardian also has a blocklist, and a pretty decent one
They are probably both good.:)
