Interresting. I don't know if LimeWire can be made small enough to be a hotmail attachment but... One word: WebStart!

A slim version of LimeWire hosted at limewire.com which cannot search etc. and regular LimeWire (maybe only for Pro?) clients can create .jnlp files similar to magnet links.
