An option to make LW the first magnet-responder again
 

I'd like to have an option to make LW the first magnet-responder in OSX, because Acquisiton holds that position tightly, so I can't use Magnets with LW.

Also I'd like to have a menu-item with which I can insert magnets directly (or the search string recognizing magnets)

LimeWire has no influence on it. LaunchServices picks the first application in alphabetical order which can handle the appropriate protocol.

Your only option is to rename Acquisiton to xAcquisiton (that's what stief does).

Hmm, LimeWire can detect magnets in the clipboard but the code is only enabled on Linux machines. Post a request to enable it on OSX as well. :)

. . . I have been using RCDefaultApp recently, as recommended by MacNN and other Mac news sites.

It nicely allows the default magnet app to be set, and also fixes those security holes that have been recently discussed.
