Watching a vid I don't know the reason why but limewire should have a video tab to watch videos like kazaa and sharaza have. |
I meant I dont know why limewire didn't do this already. |
I think the same. I hope it will come soon. UI is important, and I assume they are developing in that area again only now 8they did some really major improvements in the network code, now the interface seems to be next in line. |

I have 5.03c, and I play all my videos with it. :D |
Isn't there a way to integrate it? Replay with WinAmp in the LimeWire Window? |
You can't integrate it, but if you go to Tools/Options/Player and un-check "Use LimeWire MP3 Player", clicking Launch will use your system's default MP3 Player. |
Then at least integrate Quicktime Support in the Mac-Version :) The finder already has a Quicktime Preview (CoreVideo or so), so LimeWire should be able to integrate it somehow. |
I don't see why you would need to integrate anything, but that's for the LimeWire programmers to decide, not me. |
Did you ever experience mp3-streaming of Acquisition? If not, you should seek a MacUser of your trust and try it out. If you have enought sources, Acquisition previews the mp3 from beginning to end after maybe 10s, and for that it simply uses the Quicktime-Engine (didn't have to write the mp3-code). The same would be possible with videos somehow. (though it will be some time, till we can stream videos). |

Bear in mind that LimeWire is still a multi-platform client. QuickTime is IMO not an option and QuickTime for Java is anyway somewhat broken. QT wouldn't be suitable for this anyway because most videos are some form of MPEG-2 (SVCD) or DivX and they have often here and there flaws. QT isn't very fault tolerant in that respect. An such project has the dimensions of VLC or MPlayer. Anyway, I'm a friend of the maxim one task, one tool. btw. arne, have you ever seen LW streaming mp3, m4a, m4p, wav or aiffs straight into iTunes? No? Stay tuned! |
@rkapsi: Now you have me interested! Beware of interested Users, they might learn to read code ;) |
