Different network connections It would be pretty cool if you could also connect to other networks than gnutella and being able to see the client of each user/host |
thanx I get it now |
Bittorrent support will be added soon. |
trap_jaw4, Interesting, with a central server? Norm |
more or less. BitTorrent trackers run on servers and your download always depends on one tracker. Gnutella is really much better than BT when it comes to reliability but BT is en vogue right now and apart from the overhead for the actual download, there is no added network overhead (if you don't download from BT you don't waste any bandwidth on staying connected to some other network). |
Thanks trap_jaw4. That is interesting. I see both advantages and disadvantages. Norm |
The main advantage I see is that Gnutella gains access to a lot of new content and that it will make LimeWire a lot more popular. |
that'd pretty cool trap_jaw4 where do you get all that info |
there are limewire developer mailing lists at limewire.org and there is the #limewire irc channel at irc.freenode.net where some of the developers hang around. |
thanx for the info |
