Wishlist of Lovely little Things

There are numerous thing, which make up a good program, and not all of them are difficult to implement or related to efficiency of the network.

Small things which could be done easily.

Small things to make LimeWire run more smoothly, which don't necessaryly bring any direct benefit, but are good for the users (save click or stress or just look good - without draining too many resources). Small things, which make running LimeWire a bit more joyful than it already is.

So this Thread shall be intended for all those Lovely little Things (LlT) we'd like to see in LimeWire.

I'll being with a request I just saw: the
- definable incompletes Folder: The location of the incompletes Folder should be definable via a User preference.

- LimeWire as download Helper: I'd like LimeWire to act as the default download-helper for http-requests of all my webbrowsers. Then all downloads I have would be shared automatically. It could then start exactly one search request for the filename, as soon as it successfully downloaded and hashed the file, and send an empty request to all sources, so it gets registered in their download mesh as complete source.

- Clickable Chat Icon: A single Click on the chat icon of a host in the upload-field should start a chat.

If you ask me you can remove the chat option, other things should have a higher priority.

Exactly that is, what this thread is about: Small things, which would always have lower priority, but should be not so hard to code, so that also inexperienced programmers could do it, or someone who hasn't got that much time to devote, but wants to contribute with some Lovely little Things.
Means: Post also those, which aren't too much work, but could be really low priority.

- If Chat is disabled, the Chat-column in uploads should disappear.

- Support non-standard locations for the iTunes library. In order share my iTunes library between users of my Mac, "~/Music/iTunes" is an alias to a globally available iTunes folder.

I'm not sure what you mean by that last suggestion, Arne. LimeWire doesn't even look at the iTunes location on disk.

Sorry... seems I assumed it does it as Acquisition does it... graying out files, which you already have in iTunes (which comes in very handy). Just a small itunes icon at the right border of the name field, when you already have the file (or one with similar filename, artist, trackname and/or cd-name (I assume at least filename andor trackname and album or artist must fit).

It's been asked before by Pizza girl, but I thought I'd post it here since I don't think it's top priority stuff: Keeping a record of hits and succesful uploads, etc, etc that can be found in the Library.

I can see how "Refreshing" will go through all the shared files again so it will erase the hit-succesful-uploads-etc-etc history, but what if Refresh only scaned the Shared folders to see which files are there and which aren't and delete the latter from the lists (and eventually add any new ones)?....
