That is a good suggestion. I have been thinking of that also, since the lw media player sucks. By the way, you can preview music by clicking launch.

Also, it would be handy to be able to burn cd's and dvd's on lw.

how about limewire add a top 10 downloads icon

Converting a movie file into DVD format takes a whole chunk-a-time and eats up a lot of CPU. For some people LW already uses up quite a bit of CPU (like, say, Mac users with the crappy Java implementation that Apple is forcing us to use...). I personally wouldn't like to have two such processes going on at the same time on my comp: it would quite surely be stuck for eternity (and a day)

And, although a top ten dlds wouldn't be bad, I figure (as a non-programer) that LW would either have to use some bandwidth to make stats in each machine (=Gnutella slows down) or there would be a central server or something which would make these stats and distribute them to the net. Plus, I figure that these stats would either change at the speed of light or just be plain "arbitrary" (=wrong).

I don't believe the people at LimeWire intend to implement everything but the kitchen sink in their software. - And if they tried that, it would most definitely suck.

There is already really good software to burn CDs/DVDs, try looking at http://www.download.com

Also, don't confuse LimeWire with a regular media player, LimeWire's player is not really meant to compete against stand-alone media players, - try iTunes:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

It is difficult to gather the top-10 downloads information in the client. And I for one wouldn't like LimeWire to keep track of what files the user downloads.
For file-sharing top-10 see here:
