I'm working on chat rooms, maybe it'll make it into LimeWire 4.4 (whenever that may be released).

I can't tell you all the details yet. Basically anyone who is not firewalled can open up a chat room and others will be able to find that chat room through some kind of feature search (very much like the "What Is New" query).

The chat itself (as I envision it right now) is going to be a little like IRC, but I haven't even started with the graphical user interface.

I'm not sure how far I will pursue the idea, in theory, you could use the new UDP transfers to allow two firewalled users to communicate and to allow certain firewalled users to open chat rooms, - or you could have multiple nodes hosting a chat room for some super-large rooms with far more than 100 users but for now, all I want are simple chat rooms that you will find through searches.

Sounds like a great idea...

I sincerely hope that this feature is introduced- although how many people will actually use it is in question. I frequently try to chat- usually without success. There's some bloody miserable Limewirers out there!:p :D

Lime Wire Chat Room

Speaking of Chat Rooms, What happened to the chat feature in L.W. 4.2.4?

lol it's there. you just have to find it. No I mean you have to enable it. For mac if you click on a file you're uplding/dwnlding or in the search results & press the Control key, lots of options will pop up. One is for chatting with that host. Also, if you Control-click on the top of the column bar lots of other column options will show - one being chat to show if people have chat enabled (which shows a smiley sun.) For windows I'm not sue what you use. My guess is mouse right-click instead of the mac's Control-click. Happy to know about this if anybody can fill me in!

Thanks partner, I'll give that a try. By the way, I enjoyed your movies. Will there be a part four? Take Care.

Can you tell me how you do the equivalent on windows?! I use a mac so with my mouse I can't exactly duplicate what you people do on windows. Where'd the cat get to! Or anybody? It'll benefit a lot of people if I can pass it on!

We have a private forum & there's more anim's there for a bit of fun! lol It's hard to qualify anim's in a normal question thread. (I do it for a bit of cheek or side-joke sometimes.)
