abit of user rating would be better than the star icon we have

yer probly be to much for limewire to do but it would be cool if us the use could add a msg to a file we have downloaded, that way alot of us will save time downloading movie files that dont work or have missing codecs so on so on

Hmm, to have a user rating you'd have to have an account system, right? (free or not).

You mean that a user would rate his/her own files (much like what iTunes allows you to do)?
Why not?
A user rating on the quality of the file would be good (but the users would have to make "accurate" ratings and not put 4 stars on everything just to make sure they share...)

I assume, thatz those files they want to share will often have good ratings, else they probly wouldnt share them.

But more interestingly: How to calculate this with more than one source with different ratings (If we use the hash of teh raw data, omitting the metadata)?
