Add a genre?
 

It would be nice if a new music category searching for Indian music files... there are so many indian musical files out there, it only makes sense...

Sorry. I know Indian Music files are widespread and there is a massive range in that category alone...

My friends use coolgoose.com for downloading that kind of music if you are interested though...

What about christian music??? They have christian RAP... but it would be nice if there was a general cristian music category rather than focusing on such a small genre.

I know a lot of other christian music comes up when you search in the rap section, but why the compromise ???

Wow, since you seem to be the great one unilaterally deciding what gets to be a genre or not...

how about offering a setup option?

"Idiot genres" for those who want Trance, Acid, Gothic, and other recent 'music' made by people without musical training or experience, music that is made to make much money off the unmusical.

and then let's have the

"Serious Genres" for those of us who would like to search for Waltz, Baroque, or Dhrupad. you know what I mean, music that comes from a definition, a discipline, music with a past (and a future).

Please put Reggae and the blues in the latter. It's a disgrace to put them alonside Canadian anorexics stuck halfway through puberty and chemically altered clubbers who don't know dance from aerobics.

I can see the concern about trying to include a vast array of genres from around the world. What if they were listed heirarchically? This might reduce the need for an entire genre list from downloading/updating, only a sub-category in each folder would need this on-demand. Just an idea.

ok say for example we could have the WIDEST range of slection of genre's world wide do you know how stupid that would be. most people will have something like TARCk-TiTle-Christianrap.mp3 that covers it pritty much dont u you? i mean just add the genre next to the title and leave the genre tab empty. seems like a pritty decent idea. One day they will opt to have a "Idiot's Genre Adder" but till then this is the easest Option.

adding it to a file name is great. Do you want to ne the genius responsible for the eternal headaches that idea will spawn as certain users have trouble with file name lengths and conventions and have to re-name those files once downlaoded?
