If there are subtitles on the movie and its just an .avi file then they are embedded into the stream and not easily removable (Probably possible, but whatever should be under them won't be)

To make an .avi into a DVD you could try these steps (they are ABC )

Bitzi is a database where people submit ratings and comments on various downloads.

To find out if a download is rated high or maybe is just plain crap use Bitzi. Right-click a search result & choose Bitzi lookup.

Default Bitzi

The only way is reporting the file to bitzi and then commenting on it. Just remember just because a movie has subs, it not automatically a bad file. Some people might even prefer it with subs.

Having said that. You just report the file. rate it after the quality of the rip, and then in comments say that it has embedded oriental subs.

Go to http://bitzi.com and download the BitCollider. Install and open it. Then drag the file to it. It then analyses the file and submits the bitprint to the site. You then rate and comment on it. (Think you have to register at the site to comment)

Default Bitz n pieces...

Hi Sleepless...

Thanks for all of your help, I did the burn off with Nero 7 which I purchased some months ago, or just when it was being released. I used an Imation DVD-R which says, 4 hours EP Mode and 2 hours SP Mode 4.7GB's and like you said, it did take a couple of hours but alas, it aborted itself and said I needed a bigger disk...Oh Lord...so I'm heading in the right direction but just gotta work out the disks...or maybe I didn't do it correctly though I did follow the yellow brick road, step by step...I dunno...

Whaaaaat next Sleepless...??? Thanks ever sooooo much for your help - you are a wonderful person...

Sounds like you just chose the wrong disktype. Nero can burn Dual layer disks as well and if you chose that then it will just stay inside 8.5GB instead of 4.38 like we want.

On the first screen in Nero Vision where you import the files, you can choose how big the disk is (it should say DVD, and after importing the file(s) it should say x.xxGB of 4.38GB used. You can go over the limit because when you choose fit to disk, Nero will do just that.

Default DVD Burning...

Hello again Sleepless...

I opened up Nero again, followed the first steps as suggested; (which by the way, the steps were ABC and very easy to follow...)

Above the disk usage gauge or bar (whadya call it - lol) it said "Total spaced used 4.37 out of 4.38 used...Quality - Very Good" and I set it to DVD then followed through each step, so I would have thought there was definitely enough room...oh well I might need the dual then...cost and more cost...unless I did something wrong...

Thanks again...

Bye

Lil

Maybe the disks are the problem, or the burner. Nero really should fit the finished thing to disk. Unless it's corrupted in some way.

In nero startsmart under tools there is something called Nero CD-DVD Speed. Then burn a test disk and just follow the steps. It should then analyse the burner and the disk. I been a while since I tried it, but it should be pretty ABC if I remember correctly.

In case it's the disks, then try a brand called Verbatim. It's seems to work with everything.
