Music Bar

Maybe you guys can make a music bar so that we can fast foward threw the song or maybe we can move the bar to the middle so we can listen to the middle of the song.... Most other music players have this option im surprised limewire does not...

Limewire is not really a music player, it is a p2p client. There are as you say plenty of excellent and free music players out ther, so it is probable that Limewire will concentrate it's efforts on developing p2p client and leave the music player to others.

Yep I think most users would appreciate such an option. If or when it's adopted is anyone's guess. LW uses most of its energies on it's search & downld jobs so unfortunately the player priority doesn't get as much cpu attention as it should. I think this also reflects the priorities of the program & the programmers as Only A Hobo suggested.

thats true, but still it would be more convineant to the users if they would make LW so that you can use it as a music player too so that you dont have to download it then drag the files into another player and play it from the other player and everytime u have new songs to drag it. These little stuff are what make programs good and popular. You have to make it so that people will feel comfterable using your program rather than makeing it a hassle? I think its a pretty easy thing to just make a music bar... its not that hard. And it will boost LW ratings and the users will be more happy : )

Well personally I use iTunes as a player and excellent filing system and method of feeding my iPod. It is easy to select a download location for your Limewire files so that they are available for the player of your choice, and whilst this is very easy for Mac users with iTunes, I do agree it could be made clearer and easier for other users, judging by the number of queries on the subject!

I heard recently of a file sharing client, I forget which, which had an integrated browser (which was a bit limited) also the searching ability was a bit limited. What use is that? Better surely to have a top p2p client and a top browser (Firefox or Opera perhaps). Just my opinion:) + which Limewire are still imho struggling to make a player that has half decent sound.

@ Hobo you talking about Ares?

Ares happen to be one of the Top 10 popular p2p. i know Ares have a intergreted browser and video/music player

Maybe:D most of these things don't interest me utterly useless, since they're not made for Mac:):)

yeah i also use i tunes, but i dunno to me its just anoyying to put my songs onto itunes everytime i download songs. Im a heavy downloader i ihave like 7000 songs and i keep downloading new ones every day, and it gets anoyying to just keep loading new songs onto itunes, but i guess limeiwre doens't care too much about there music player, there concentrating more on the p2p

Fortunately for mac users, iTunes can import automatically directly from LW as soon as the downld completes. I'm not sure why this ability hasn't been added to the windows version of LW. OS differences I guess. Remember with iTunes you can add folders just by drag & dropping them onto iTunes (the library icon on the iTunes interface) which you could do with the LW downld folder if music is all you downld. Or select all the mp3 files simultaneously with the SHIFT key & drag & drop them.

One point I can make is that the LW media player was not designed by the main LW programming team but was a donated effort.

Could be because Microsoft and Mac have been in a pissing match forever.
