limewire pro updates

guys,
considering that the pro version is an upgrade, why are the updates so dodgy to get? i get notification that the "not" pro version update is available in my "pro" version. I should be able to log onto the "pro" version button, and auto update or at least check if my "pro" version is the latest version.
I updated once before and it changed my "pro" version to a newer "non-pro" version!!!!!
please fix this or at least have a menu button within my "pro" version to check for updates.
have a nice day.

update via your pro page.

a "pro" version is for the professional user, someone who can learn+understand things. its not for the simple-minded..

dear ultraknob,

I know you might not be the brightest light on the back porch, or maybe drinking all that warm beer has melted some brain cells, but do you actually know how to read. or do you actually own a copy of limewire pro? or do you just use your friends copy now and then?
Try to update your latest version or even find out how, and then maybe start popping off with your dime store philosophy.
If you want me to use my credit card to buy you a copy, do let me know.

Most of us who do have LW Pro, we bookmark our personal downld page. So, when we get warning of an update, we go to the browser bookmark. But I see where you're coming from. The problem would be however, that each pro user has their own personal downld page. So it would be very difficult to link the LW Pro program to each person's personal downld page. Doing so in any case would pose a major security risk. AFAIK
I've never noticed about non pro updates being different to pro updates since they're usually (but perhaps not always) released at the same time.

thank you for your kind reply. apparently I am not making myself really clear here, so I will try again. If you use Ccleaner or ad-aware you will get update notices, or like spysweeper, it will tell you that a new program version is available, would you like to upgrade?
I think it would be better for the end user if limewire pro
had a link under help, that simply stated, check for latest version.
I did not buy the pro version because I am a "professional" downloader, like ultraknob, I bought it to support Limewire.
At one time I did click on the upgrade link, and it turned my limewire pro version, to the latest basic version, which was a little haywire!
It's not a big deal, it simply could be better.

I might be mistaken but I thought that was what LW originally had. Yes I think that's quite a reasonable request. Though LW do try to get people upgrading ASAP for a reason. And that's for the users to mature along with the gnutella network as it progresses thru changes. Using older versions can be damaging to the network .. so they try to keep people aware of updates immediately. But then update notices is basically the same concept I guess ... just done in a different manner.
I did misunderstood what you originally meant. :D
