This is something I've been waiting for for a long time... I hope you will make this a priority, as LimeWire's performance is still PAINFULLY slow. It's a great client, it's just that running programs in a Java VM, frankly, sucks. My computer won't even play a movie while LimeWire is running, because it's so CPU-intensive. But there is a very simple solution--make the Java code compatible with the GNU Java Compiler. That way it can be compiled into a native executable, and should give tremendous speed gains...
I seriously hope you consider implementing this feature as soon as possible! Thanks for all your work on the project. |
