Seeking when playing songs?

Was just thinking, my winamp just recently screwed up so ive had to resort to using limewires mp3 player :(:(:(
was just wondering if a seek option could be included in the player where you can click on the playing bit down tje bottom (where the coloured bar moves across showing where in the song it is up to) and it would move to the clicked part of the song. this would be much better to listen to songs and also to skip the start of a downloading song so you can preview the middle to see if you like it or not
this would save a lot of time :D:D:D

Hi Kinge,
Until the LW player is improved a bit :D , you might like to make something else your default player. These threads will give you an idea of what some people around here use (many of them are free)

You'll find that if you stay with the LW player, it'll drive you insane. Skips & pops etc, it will just hurt your ears:)

it is unlikely that this would be implemented as the Player was more or less a gift to Limewire that was added on and has not recieved any attention from the developers who are kept busy with the p2p side of the programme.

I use the iTunes player myself .. but I would see if you can sort out your win amp or try something else.:)

Birdy> well for some reason hardly anything to is a default for windows works for me :S this includes internet explorer (so i use firefox - is much much better anyway) and without internet explorer i cant update my computer :s is this a problem?
i also cant use the search function (start > search) and windows media player doesnt work
can you suggest to me which players you think are good? And yes, i have gotten sick of LW player after a day or so lol so now i just plug the compuer speakers into my Creative Zen :D (Zen Rocks!)

Hobo> Ooooh i see..... damn. Isn't iTunes only for iPods? And as for winamp, ive tried reinstalling and updating and everything but it still doesnt work. :( it was my favourite player but now i guess ill just have to look for another. ill try those threads Birdy suggested.

Thanks to both of you for your help :)

Kinge,
No, iTunes isn't just for iPods. It's a player on it's own. Just have to have it to add songs to your iPod. I use it, it's pretty good:D I don't use WMP but a lot of people swear by it. Guess it's just personal choice!

I agree with you about Firefox:D

Try out a few players & see which one you like best!
