Limewire For Pocket Pc I think it would be nice to have Limewire on my pocket pc... Please make it to pocket pc:rolleyes: |
I THINK many people are downloading movies and music. Pocket PCs do not have much memory so, there is no point of downloading huge sized files. So, I think there is no point making or using LimeWire for PPC. |
you got a point there :D |
Yea but ones now have a Memory Card Slot, I have a 2gb card in mine so it could come in handy! |
i also have a memory card slot and i have a 2gb card and nearly all new ppc's have sd card slots so limewire would be a great idea! Also which would be even better if you could use the gprs internet on limewire so you could download music/videos on the go! I would love to see this happen, please take it into consideration :D |
Me i think bad idea for ppc Four one you would have to download java programs to it and that takes about 140Mb of space so there go's 140mb that you do need and Lime wire pro takes about 18Mb's so and than add all of the problems that's going to happen with your ppc and than you will get mad later because you whant it on your ppc.and the reason you might get mad is you might download a virus or worm buy luck and then what are you going to do then.Hmmm think a little better.because if you download a virus or worm there is probley no way to get it off.See even if you run a virus scaner from your pc to your ppc. seee |
xcom46, your english is weird? you just stated " even if you run a virus scanner from your pc to your ppc" then ended the sentence/ i don't understand what your saying, if you can scan your ppc why would you worry bout viruses? and whats the chance of a virus? not to mention just being on the computer right now anyone could hack your computer or what not so you can't exactly be worried 24/7. plus i'm sure pdas must have security messures, if not why would you have a wi-fi option? |
Sorry my bad i some times have bad day's with my typeing. My finger's dont whant to work some time's.:tease: Got milk If you do than your a human and must be killed:p |
personally i think it is an excellent idea and how are we going to know how good it is untill we have tried it? it might work fine with no problems or may be the other way round but you never know unless you try. Please limewire crew make limewire for pocket pc! |
limewire to pda i don't think beggin will do anything i guess the only way to get something cool like a portable system to limewire or emule or whatever is to get some super small laptop/notebook.......but they are super expensive so goog luck trying getting those i.e something like 10inch notebook :super: |
SONY VAIO ***-UX280P Micro Notebook I was wrong apparently whilst searching on ebay i found this SONY VAIO ***-UX280P Micro Notebook some super micro notebook, like a pda but the power is awesome (i thinK) what i DO know is, is that it runs like a typical pc OR notebook/laptop if you will and it has a massive hdd (for a small notebook that is) with wifi so no more thinking about "limewire to pda/pocket pc" well........not if you can afford this. some guy in U.S is selling it for 1500 AUD so keep you fingers crossed for a limewire or emule or whatever to PDA's but since when do the people at the top ever listen to the little people:w00t: |
yep it would be nice ( mp4 user, cell phone user) be nice to downloadin anything useing a wireless electronic product but as the they years go by i would bet on it tyhatr it would be avalabile to do that and then some:welcomeani: |
getting better true, years go by it will become better technology, cost more though, and how long would you need to wait for it? plus the problem here is pdas run their own software thats the problem we're having with limewire 2 pda's are all about. so if you wanna ruin someones quota at a coffee-shop hotspot and download anything you want this product seems the best. Just a lil too steep for me for now. But i may get it later......seems good its an actual notebook so runs windowz xp.......plus 1500 isn't too bad.......according to google they retail over $2000 |
not too long ...it verys with each company on how there budget is or are they ready to upgrade to that point ...some companies just pure out broke to do much of anything let alone this but we all know ("Money talks ,bull??? walks) matter of speaking  |
pocket pc i thought we were talking 'bout p2p on portable systems?, how likely will it be on lets say.......created for a mobile/cellular phones? also pdas run there own software. as for emule THEY have their own one they created as a side project for portable devices but i hear its running really shotty. I picture p2p software companies as dodgey, and wouldn't spend much on something on a side-project...especially since if normal limewire does the trick, why would i pay for pro? also irony is, you can d/l limewire pro from the old limewire. (not that im saying its an exceptable behaviour). p2p has been out since the days FBI hated kazza......still no special version of limewire? why? cause it won't happen.....at least not soon.:yahoo: better give up on the idea or save up for a better device that ACTUALLY runs typical pc software. |
There is pocket g2 pro for windows mobile... Works great. I use it to dl music while I'm on the go... DL straight to my SD card and with 3G speeds dl is pretty quick... |
pocket g2 pro? what is "pocket g2 pro"?? what type of networks does it go through, i'm not an uber-dork in computers but don't you need be using a program that connects to other computers so you have access to typical files when using psp like emule, limewire, bearshare etc? does this link you to only "pocket g2 pro" networks? or does it use your typical limewire network?? how big is the program? what are you using? is it a pda mobile/cellular?? if its windows mobile that means any pda or 'pocket pc' is useable right? whats the speed you get when downloading? i.e 512k?? |

PocketG2 Pro uses Gnutella (thus, G2)...its the program you can use on your cell phone (wm5&6...2003?), instead of limewire, emule...etc. So, you can drive down the street and hear a song, and download it to your phone right there. Its speed depends on your carrier...the best I've done on EDGE is around 200k. Although I think its the best out there...its only up to an alpha version...so it crashes all the time. If you do a google search you'll find links to it...many of them dead, but don't give up...some people still have it available to d/l. :) This will make some people happy: The trick is, since the alpha testing is expired, to go in to the directory it was installed into (\storage card\program files\Pocket G2 Pro) then open up the Settings.pg2 file. Find where it says License.Start and change the year in that date to sometime in the distant future. That way, it won't expire until after that date. :) ...also, since its alpha (aka, its gonna crash) don't be too greedy w/the number of songs you d/l at once. :) Good luck! |
limewire new program? dude after this program was being brought up in the conversation the first thing i did was google it, so i'm aware of it AND how its failing, i actually found the actuall forum where the actual creator posted it, and its failing miserably. Talks of it not booting up, crashing, works but super slow etc etc Although if you got it to work then i'm happy that it didn't screw you. however driving down the road? dude i don't know which country you' come from but where I am not ALL places have wi-fi hotspots, let alone a free one i want a p2p program so i can get free downloads of anything, not just crappy mp3s, otherwise i could do it at home.....songs at most 7megs for a high quality 320kbps, therefore not such a big toll on ones downloading quota.......but stuff like games and crap like that on the other hand would effect it greatly thats where downloading at a free hotspot is cool....but useless if its some crappy unfinished program for PDA and celluar/mobile phones. If i had cash i'd get that micro notebook i mentioned :super: p.s i just noticed on a forum whilst searching on google that the project is abandoned so i guess your screwed |
Then there are those of us that possess phones which are more than capable of using 'limewire.' My phone runs on an intel chip, has 8Gb built in memory, along with a 4Gb SD card. Runs Windows Mobile 6, and has a 5" lcd screen. So, for those of us that have the toys capable of using limewire, we would certainly appreciate a 'pocket pc' version. I have an Htc X7501, since you were probably wondering... |
