Password protection (parental controls) request for filters

Please could you add a password protection feature for the whole of the filters options in LimeWire.

I don't want my kids to enable downloading of adult content, movies, junk or copyrighted filtered material.

Thank you.

After doing some research, I found that this topic has already been extensively discussed and the password protection feature has been requested in them.

So why is LimeWire taking so long to impliment this feature????? :(

Yes, especially now that everyone is looking for something to replace Kazaa...which had a password-protected adult content filter.

Well you can't stop your kids from searching porn from p2p -or- the internet.. only do your best to limit it.

Just tell them not to download porn, they probably -will- but all kids do. Just let them lol... I know if I was told when I was a kid not to look at porn.. I'd do the total oposite!

I have the only admin account on our WinXP computer, and control which software runs on it, including the choice of P2P client software. I have a much better chance of controlling what they see if there's an adult content filter. It works very well with Kazaa.

You'e just proven that your method is not reliable.

You may not be able to stop kids from searching porn 100% of the time, but you CAN reach close to 100% if you install protection against it.

Using a firewall with parental controls, you can prevent most adult websites to be accessed.

You can also limit which programs they can use to access the internet. And so you can choose not to give them permission to use P2P software.

Which is why we request a password preotection for adult content for Limewire. In this way, we can give them permission to use Limewire that would have its own parental controls.

I agree. It worked well with kazaa. Looks like we should all go back to using Kazaa.

I'm not a parent but I believe this is needed. I’m struggling with an addiction to porn and I don't want any part of it but when it presents itself in my searches so readily it makes resisting really difficult.
