anti-virus integration

I have a problem with some of the files containing viruses. I have Winrar 3.4.2 that I can use to check files before I open them. So if you could make LimeWire
read the files as there being downloaded everyone would be safer. You could also get more results by integrating a WebUI into the program.

There is no central LW server...you are downloading files directly from other LW users...

If you download copywrited material, you risk infection with viruses. I would recommend not downloading any .exe files (add .exe to filter), since you cannot scan them first as you can with .rar files.

Also, keep up to date with antivirus software...I have McAfee and it caught all of the viruses I downloaded (probably .exe files) when I first started using LW.

Good Luck

Dudes, simply, allocate the Lw down folder to the desktop, then, when you down anythin', you'll find it there, and scan it

It is possible.
There is already a built in media player, or it uses windows media shell. There is also a thing that sometimes prompts you if a file is corrupt.

But I doubt if this will be a priority for the programmers, unless they somehow do all these other requests and get really bored. Most people already know to be careful of applications. If I want an application I will scan it with my own anti-virus software.

You can even attach it to an email and it should scan it. I know yahoo does.
