spottedredsdad's list of LimeWire Pro improvements

I want to see smarter downloads ie:

Ability to ignore mpeg, mpg, mov or avi files smaller than xxx megabytes
Constant searching for file being downloaded
Downloading from more than 10 hosts - why not 50 or 100?
Always look for a faster connection on a file or partial file

I agree! It would be nice to download from more that 10 hosts!

1. I requested a size filter a long time ago & many have since. But in meantime, Arrange search results by size (click on link)

2. I doubt LW would ever implement this. It puts too much stress on the network & causes too much traffic. If LW introduced that function, the entire gnutella network would slow down to a crawl. It would also stress networks that use the gnutella network. Instead, you can use the advanced search option -> right click search result bar & choose advanced > Get More Results.

3. If you are a T3 & have ability to be one you can download from more. But, if everyone was connecting to 50 or 100 at once, then it would make everybody difficult to connect to. Too many requests & not enough slots. It would mean a very small % of people would Hog all the upload slots available.

4. Depends on your own settings. You can choose to only download from 4 star quality & T1 or higher. But keep in mind that when you download from a T1 or T3 user, they will most likely be sharing their upload slots with many other people so the speed gets divided. Sometimes you may only get a small speed from a so called fast connection. Yet if you add a few modem / dsl connections it can boost the speed up noticably.
