Settings

Unless I am mistaken, there appears to be no way to save one's settings in Limeware. Every time I start the program I find I have to go to Tools > Options > ... and go through setting everything up all over again. I find this tiresome and frustrating. I'm a Newbie at this file sharing business, but I am already sharing 979 files, all ones that I have ripped myself from my own CD's by the way and not ones I have downloaded from the net. If Limewire were ready for prime time, I would buy it. However, since it isn't and only 6 months of free updates are offered, I feel I must hold back and keep my eyes open for a better alternative.
I would encourage everyone to rip their PC's and share them. I find that I am able to listen to mp3's, rip mp3's, download files with Limewire, have several people uploading files from my PC, and cruise the net all at the same time; in fact I am doing so right now. I only have a 500 MHz machine and a DSL conection with about 1300 down/500 up kbps. I found a great free ripper and file organizer at www.phatnoise.com, which I don't hesitate to recommend.

Try doing your settings and fully quitting LimeWire after clicking OK in the options window.

To check that your settings took you can open your limewire.props in a text editor and look for your changes. If they're not there you can set them in that file and once your save your changes you won't have to redo your settings again.

I notice that in the limewire.props file there is the following entry:
MINIMUM_SEARCH_QAULITY=2

Notice how QUALITY is misspelled as QAULITY.

My question is, does this matter? Or should the parameter name be changed to MINIMUM_SEARCH_QUALITY=WHATEVER?

Oh, and thanks, by the way.
