feature to prevent people sharing viruses

many of us wish to download such or such file, but when the search list appear, we know there is a problem. For instance a music video will be about 40mb so when I see results with a 29.0kb, we know there is a problem. I check the file with bitzi and here we go.

Overall
-3.2 "Dangerous/Misleading"

When some users are sharing such files, obviously their intentions are to damage your computer, so I think we all agree that no one wish to share with them, so why not create a buttom that will alert LW that this user is sharing viruses under falses names? Once LW is alerted, then that person could be barred from accessing LW and one by one these people would be removed and LW would become a very nice place for any file sharing. :yahoo:

LimeWire is only a piece of software for Peer-to-Peer file-sharing. "Alerting Limewire" is therefore not possible. In order to keep p-p file-sharing free, there cannot be any central registry, server, etc. We can do what we need to protect ourselves, or we can pay someone else to guarantee our safe downloading. That's why some use Netflix. The best thing LW developers could do was to include the link to Bitzi (thank you LW Dvlps).

Also, some people don't know that a file in their Shared folder is bogus, especially if they've recently downloaded it. Would you have them banned?

At least you're trying to help by thinking of ways to make improvements. 'Tis better to have thoughts that need refinement, than to have no thoughts at all.
