allow separate IP paths for uploads & downloads

it would be nice if LW's OS-level network management was more flexible.

it would be convenient to be able to assign uploads & downloads to different IP's if a machine had more than one network connection (eg wifi & enet; or 3G-tethering via wifi & bluetooth PAN; etc).

it would be even better if the user could (dynamically) assign specific files (individually or in certain groups/sets) to different IP bindings ...

one channel might be near its bandwidth cap, so it is suitable for batching up many small files; whereas another channel might have lots of headroom left, so it would be appropriate for very large files. Likewise, the speed of the uploading server, or the amount of disc capacity remaining on the client machine, etc, might also be a factor that the user wants to be able to manage by controlling how virtual channels are setup.

does this request entail that LW would need to do alot of work to become a mini VPN? (and is that a bad thing?) ... or could this level of granularity be accomplished with relatively simple OS-level socket management?
