Very important: Show my ip address Considering how privacy is a huge issue, I'm totally shocked that this version of Limewire (5.3.6) doesn't appear to have a method to determine what your OWN IP address is (and please don't tell me to go another web site like CMyIP). There should be a simple button, somewhere, that one can click, so that I can determine, what IP address I am showing to the world (and the RIAA possibly). Please. PLEASE, put this feature (back in!). Thanks, Chantara |
Your IP Address parsatec/Chantara You know, you don't need LW to tell you what your IP address is, i.e. the address you search the Internet and gnutella network with. If you have a modem router then check its Administrator Configuration Page or if you are using a single user USB or cable modem then you can look up your windows Local Area Connection Status. External IP Address I just had an extra thought, if you are using a modem router then LW and/or windows Local Area Connection Status would not show you the IP address that you were showing to the world, only your internal one. You see, a modem router substitutes your internal IP for an external one and I would presume a multi-user cable system would do exactly the same thing. So, if you have a modem router, multi-user cable modem or any other multi-user system used to access the Internet and you still want to see your external IP address then you have to use a site like CMyIP or your modem's configuration page.
