When I downloaded Newtella, I experienced the same thing you are. What it is is that Newtella takes a amazing amount of time to search. (Sometimes maybe an hour!) I got another client. I use LimeWire, but I shouldn't tell you which one to use. Here are some good ones:

-Gnotella
-LimeWire
-Gnucleus
