Music files to flash drive help

Hi, Has anyone had any luck with copying I tunes to a memory stick? It just seems it should be able to do but have never been able to make it work. It would be a lot quicker and less expensive than burning countless CD's. I do a lot of transferring files to friends computers to add to their I Tunes libraries. Any help would sure be appreciated. Thanks:)

I was able to find a simple, free program that allows easy transfer of audio/video files between an iPod and a PC (for later transfer to an MP3 player or flash drive). It allowed individual file transfer as well as the ability to sync both devices. I can't remember the name, but I found it at cnet dot com.

The particular program I used could be installed on a memory stick - so you don't have to install it on the PC to up/download files. You should be able to find it (it's been about a year since I used it).

Plug in your memory stick, then drag and drop all the music into it.

I don't use iTunes myself, but maybe this will help The Easiest Way To Move Your iTunes Library To An External Drive

I'm pretty sure that the program I used is CopyTrans (but I'm not certain).

If you find no joy in the links below, send me a note and on Tuesday I will find out from my friends what program I used.

Free Download CopyTrans 4.043 - Backup, Copy, Recover,iPod/iPhone Music to PC
iPod PC Transfer 5.4 - download iPod PC Transfer free - Transfer music from iPod to PC
Download Free iPod PC Transfer, iPod PC Transfer 6.4 Download

I suggest using a program that can be placed on the iPod and run from there, thus you won't need to install software on every PC to which you connect. Also, be sure to set you Pod to be used as an external drive (the software instructions should explain how that is easily done). And doing so won't hurt your Pod.

I appreciate that Blackhorse 70. OK, I've been playing with those three links for a few days and I don't see what you mean about the stick transfer. I've already been running Touchcopy 2009 for a couple years now and I think Transcopy is just like that also. They do not as far as I know give you the ability to tranfer tunes to a stick. As you said above, that would be the way to go. I would like to just use my little 2 gig Ipod as a stick itself to transport between PC's. Is there a program out there that will format my I little Ipod to do that? Thanks

Is yours an ipod or a memory stick?
My first pod ended up using as just a memory stick. I presume you can use it same way on Windows as you can on a Mac. You have an option to use it just as data stick so to speak. Been ages now though.

'Go to My Computer (if you're on a PC) and go into the iPod drive, and then drag your files into the iPod folder.' But iTunes must be closed when you drag & drop items onto the pod.
Quoted from a google search. :D

Yes LOR, I want to use my 2.2 gig pod as a stick for Itunes files to transfer from one PC to another. My goal is to get them all synched, I want all my pcs to have the same music files on them. I am running touch copy.
I have tried a standard memory stick for this and have struck out. Itunes is not at all friendly with mem stick transfers.
