What's up with "you will see few or no searches because your client is a leaf node.."

I see searches go by almost faster than I can read them even though it says i'm not an ultrapeer and i have that disabled (my upstream SUCKS) and there are only 150 hosts on hte network under statistics right now... Is something messed up?
