Realtek speakers troubleshooting

In Windows 10, my Realtek speakers sometimes emit a very low volume. This happens on and off. Have adjusted the volume to highest pitch, i.e. 100%, but still the volume is often very low.

Can you help a newbie, please?

Thank you in advance.

Joe

If this problem only started after upgrading to Windows 10, see https://appuals.com/windows-10-buzzing-sound/ Various people suggest different things in the later discussion. Might be specific solutions to particular computers, such as replacing or updating drivers.

A long read but some discussion and possible solutions in this thread High pitched static sound from speakers - Speakers - Audio however this not likely the problem if your issue only began after upgrading to Windows 10.
