Banners

I was really hoping that someone could tell me a way to get those stupid banners from coming up of my Limewire 23.3. First of all they make everything else slower, plus they have pop ups with them and they are very very very annoying! If there is any way to turn them off i would love to know, if not i would make the suggestion that you don't include those studip banners when you create the next limewire upgrade.

Your options include:

1. Using Clean LimeWire, FreeWire or AquaLime
2. Compiling your own version from CVS source
3. Buying the pro version

FreeWire can be downloaded from
http://download.centralserver.net/fr...eWireSetup.exe

Not sure if Clean LimeWire is the same as FreeWire or if it's been dropped. Don't know where AquaLim can be downloaded, but I'm sure MamiyaOtaru can show you.

You need the Java SDK and ant to build from source.

I think LW still needs some things fixed before I'd buy a copy.

aye, that I can. News (sorta) about AquaLime is at http://mamiyaotaru.mangatoanime.com
To download it, head over to http://unitethecows.com (they host it)

Shorebreak does as well, he can give you his URL (it's slipped my mind) And thanks, Shorebreak!

or wipe cydoor with Ad-Aware, but that'll waste kazaa along with it. i use both limewire & kazaa (removed the effing BDE) If u need both use the file @ www.cexx.org/cd_clint.zip, extract to SYSTEM(32) folder. BUT, if u only need lime, use ad-aware, which is absurdly easy to use.

The other options above work well too (and that AquaLime looks SWEET! :D)

Cheers! :)

Actually, I found the lite version after i already had kazaa, so i just used their BDE Clean prog & ad-aware. I still prefer limewire tho, its just the other users of this comp who can't grasp gnutella's inability to instantly connect to all the files on the network. Patience is a virtue, and good things come to those who wait.

Although them hashes sure are takin a while . . .

Yes! I know this! ;)

But they came faster to you if you use more than just one network, I use currently 4... and believe me I find almost all I need! :)
