I threw lime in the trash, it deleted evreything except that file. It says it's 3.9gigs, I know it's wrong and maybe corrupted. Where are you getting 1.8? When you say you reinstall 1.8, are you doing it from the same installer, or did you re-download it from the limewire site? What happens when you reinstall limewire 1.8? Does it make a new .lax file? Does the reintalled program work? What happens if you replace the old one with the new one? Can you rename the file? Have you tried installing a newer version of limewire? A lw. developer should post some help eventually. |
oh, by the way, you may get more help posting in the Limewire Mac forum. |
It sounds like you could have serious disk directory problems. Check the disk w/ Disk First Aid. What does that report? I'm still not clear on what the problem is exactly. Is the file in the trash and you can't empty the trash? Can you drag it back out of the trash? Or you can't move the file to the trash in the first place? What is the file's name? If you can remove it from the trash, can you rename the file? As far as asking your Tech guy, unless it's obvious from the file's name that it's something "non-work related" couldn't you just say you had a file (any file--"generic_image.jpg", for example) and you tried to delete it and you got these errors? Who cares where it came from? Sorry, I don't mean to tell you to lie, but... Hope this helps.... |
