Why is everybody queing???

I do not understand why so many people are queing file transfers lately. Gee whiz folks, if you don't want to share your files then don't put them in your sharing folders. It's a real pain in the ***.

I think you will find that this is an automatic function... this usually takes place for one of two reasons.

The host has reached it's bandwith limits and can service no more peers for the time being.
-or-
You are already downloading X # of files form a host and the host has a number set for the max number a single peer can download at one time.

In either case being Queued is good since it means you are in line and not being denied access.

I don't think the I have ever been qued using Limewire before Morpheus started hi-jacking my connections. Now, nearly everything that I try to dload gets qued.

I have experienced it in the past with Limewire... I have been 'removing' Morpheus connections as they appear - I have better luck with all of the other flavors... of course I have to re-check every once in a while...

Yeah, I've been removing the Morpheus connections too. But it doesn't seem to help very much. I think it may be time for me to move on to different P2P client.

I don't know who to blame but I have been having a horrible time downloading the files I want. This is a new problem I have had great success with LimeWire in the past. It sure seems to coincide with the whole Morpheus thing. The las post may be correct it may be time to try another p2p.

Yeah... I have been tinkering with a couple of other clients myself.... the reality is I like Limewire .... maybe some shrewd Limewire developer will allow you to set filters on "vendors" in the hosts section... so we don't have deal with apps like Morpheus

Hmmmm.....
Morpheus is not a 'bogus app'...... it is the result of a very large number of people who are not p2p 'savvy' coming into the Gnutella Network very quickly - almost like a tidal wave...... The problem is mainly that there are suddenly a very large number of users who are not using the correct configurations and who are unaware of this error. The very great majority of Morpheus users should NOT be operating as Ultrapeers....... This is the main problem. But, this problem is hardly limited to Morpheus users.... it is true for the great majority of users and clients...... It's only that there are so MANY Morpheus users and they arrived so SUDDENLY!

And now, hang on to your hats for the next tsunami caused by the removal of AudioGalaxy..... Those users are not going to take up model airplanes and crocheting!!!
They are coming into Gnutella NOW! Perhaps the impact will not be so great as there is no one yet 'compelling' ex-AG users to use one cloned client as Morpheus did with their 'customers' and the Gnucleus clone they are using.....

Then would it not be the vendor that should at least set default configurations into a less 'offensive' default? I have to admit I tried Morpheus a while back and was not too impressed...

I still like the 'filter' idea...

Yes!!!
Too many of them are providing the s'ware with defaults that are totally stupid..... New users are not aware of this and have no choice but to trust..... So-called experienced users have the fantasy that more is better in every case....
result = Bad Ultrapeers, corrupt files shared from Downloads folder, aggressive querying and the building of a new generation of Game-Playing-Geniuses who got there first practice on ultra-high-speed mouse operations by deleting Morpheus hosts!!!!! :p
