Blocking bots I suspect I have a bot monopolizing my bandwidth; how do I block greedy customers? The IP of the suspect is: *IP address removed* |
Bot Block tools > options > Filters > hosts ... add *IP address removed* .... apply ... ok .... done. :D |
needs to be a way to right click and block hosts in the search results. i see more and more spammers on the gnet. |

Filtering I've found that by filtering keywords like full-downloader, full-installer, url and removing the filetypes html, htm, and xml the amount of spam crap that I get returned on search results has been nearly eliminated ... food for the noodle. :p |
I've been adding hosts and keywords to the filter list like mad, but I'm still getting loads of spam results. Perhaps it's time for a Gnutella-wide filter cache, rather like the host caches, to filter out spammers, scammers and bots. That way, each time you open your client, it would update the filter host list automatically and block'em all. Though, obviously, how this list would be managed and what criteria would be applied to add to it is a more difficult question. Alternatively, I've thought of sending a list of spammer IPs to Bush identifying them as Al Quaeda members :D |
